Solar Photovoltaic Systems
Quick Quote
It is important to consider ways you can conserve electric in order to reduce the size and investment in a PV system. Use simple conservation practices and other technologies to reduce usage.
Alternatives for Water Heating and Space Heating should be considered first; if you need heating for a pool, water heater or space heating, use a Direct Solar Thermal System (Thermal systems are much more efficient for heating than generating electric from a PV system used to operate an electric heater). Large loads such as air conditioning require a larger Solar Electric PV system to offset the electrical cost. As the cost of PV modules has dropped over the last five years, it is now feasible for some users to produce enough power to essentially eliminate their power bills – achieving a Net-Zero home. For homes or businesses with larger bills in excess of $300 per month, a PV system may only offset a portion of their total electric bill. If you have a limited budget, consider a smaller system to begin reducing and adding on as your budget allows. To produce more power at the lowest possible cost consider a PV Package for do-it-yourself kits or contact us for a quotation on complete installation.
Use the estimator below as a general guide for size, cost and savings. Calculations and examples are very conservative, most people can expect to save more.
