The StoveTec GreenFire MK2 features a reinforced metal door frame for increased durability and stove life. This stove also features sockets on the door frame to hold the improved stick support system, keeping the legs of the stick support outside of the combustion chamber and giving you the option to permanently install the stick support to the stove. The StoveTec GreenFire Flex-M MK2 has a refractory metal lining that protects the ceramic insulation, increases the life of your stove, and improves combustion efficiency. This stove features The new Swingform Technology(TM) combustion chamber doors enabling for an effortless conversion from wood to charcoal fuels. Both the main combustion chamber door and the damper door have reinforced metal frames and have hinges that serve to securely close the doors and regulate airflow. The StoveTec GreenFire Flex-M MK2 has a durable, reformulated 6-pronged cast iron stove top that improves heat transfer for all pots including round bottom pots and woks. We've also used a thicker, reformulated cast iron in the internal grate for added durability and have included a replaceable secondary grate to increase airflow and to protect the stove. The StoveTec GreenFire Flex-M MK2 can burn both wood and charcoal. It saves a lot of both!
Feed wood fuel into the big door. Use the small lower door to control the flow of air into the fire (which lowers emissions). When burning charcoal, close the big door and control the rate of burn by opening and closing the lower door.
Adding adjustable doors to a Rocket stove allows for control of the air that enters the fire to speed up or slow down the rate of combustion. More air is needed to start a cold fire and to create a hot fire initially. Once the fire is going, partially closing the bottom door limits the air, increases heat transfer to the pot and reduces harmful emissions.
The StoveTec GreenFire Flex efficiently uses charcoal to cook food. It burns up carbon monoxide in the enclosed space above the fire. Frequently, burning wood can make enough charcoal to simmer using only the "made" charcoal. After boiling food, close the big door. Air from the lower door keeps the charcoal burning.
